Two original comedies are returning to CTV with all-new seasons. Season 2 of the critically acclaimed dramatic comedy Robson Arms and Season 2 of the Gemini-nominated comedy Jeff Ltd will air back-to-back in CTV’s Saturday night comedy block, airing from 9 to 10 p.m., beginning Saturday, Feb. 10 on CTV (check local listings). Both series will also premiere on The Comedy Network and will be made available on demand on The CTV Broadband Network at CTV.ca (see below for broadcast and broadband schedules).

Robson Arms debuted to critical acclaim when it premiered in June, 2005 on CTV. “The series is simply delicious,” said The Globe and Mail. “Never self conscious or pretentious, Robson Arms is a real find,” said National Post. And the Winnipeg Free Press called it “a brilliantly executed half-hour of television.” Delivering a strong, young national audience, the series finished its first season No. 1 in its timeslot in the Adults 18-34 category (Source: BBM). See “About Robson Arms” below for Season 2 broadcast information.

A Gemini nominee for Best Comedy Series, Jeff Ltd drew audiences approaching 900,000 in its first season on CTV, second only to Corner Gas in the network’s scripted comedy genre. In Season 2, actor/writer/executive producer Jeff Seymour adds director to his list of credits with the season premiere episode “Too Many Hens In The Foxhouse.” See “About Jeff Ltd” below for Season 2 broadcast information.

About Robson Arms, Season 2
This season, Leslie Nielsen (Scary Movie 4, The Naked Gun), Joe Flaherty (SCTV, Happy Gilmore) and Linda Kash (Cinderella Man, Best In Show) move into Robson Arms, joining an unlikely collection of neighbours who live under one roof, yet occupy different worlds. Season 2 of the 13-part series picks up with a “For Sale” sign outside of the apartment following an earthquake and the death of the building’s owner at the end of the first season. Meanwhile, Yuri, the appealing but sleazy superintendent of Robson Arms (played by series regular John Cassini: Intelligence, Final Days on Planet Earth) balks at orders to build a wheelchair ramp for bitter old Caldo Vasco (played by legendary Canadian actor Leslie Nielsen).

About Jeff Ltd Season 2
Gemini Award-winning actor Jeff Seymour (The Eleventh Hour) returns as the loveable, smooth-talking, “genius-in-his-own-mind” Jeff Stevens, who chases women and half-baked, get-rich-quick schemes with reckless abandon and whose shell games tend to blow up in his face like trick cigars. Joining Seymour are series regulars Inga Cadranel (The Eleventh Hour) as Jeff’s business partner Liz Santerra, Jesse Bond (The Limit) as the company’s art director and Jeff’s frequent accomplice in zany adventures Gavin Pitney, Hrant Aliank (Newsroom) as Uncle Kazem and Sam Tabar (Roomates) as Jeff’s competitive cousin Samir. The 13-episode series picks up with Jeff turning his bachelor pad into a university dorm with scantily-clad young women and pillow fights after he promises an old school chum that he will look after his daughter for a week. Jeff continues to blunder his way through romantic liaisons this season – including an old friend’s daughter, a lesbian, a stalker and various clients – each of whom Jeff mistakenly believes to be his perfect match. His professional foibles finally lead to an ‘Outstanding Achievement Award in Advertising’ when Jeff receives recognition for his ‘genius’ work on the Fish Donuts campaign.
