START OF PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY ON WHIZBANG FILMS’ GRIPPING SERIES’ PILOT LAWYERS, GUNS & MONEY

Whizbang Films, in a partnership with Canwest, announced today that production has begun on Lawyers, Guns & Money, shooting in Hamilton, Ontario, through November 11, 2008.
The pilot follows Jimmy Burns, a young claims adjuster for a faceless, bottom-line corporation who maneuvers his way around insurance scams and the criminal underworld as he tries to escape his past and make a better life on the gritty post industrial streets of Hamilton.
Executive produced by Paul Gross, Frank Siracusa, and Malcolm MacRury, the original pilot stars Luke Kirby, (Tell Me You Love Me, Slings & Arrows, Labor Pains and Mambo Italiano) Caroline Cave (The L Word, This Beautiful City), Rick Roberts (ZOS: Zone of Separation, Pontypool, Angela’s Eyes) and Clark Johnson (The Wire, Homicide: Life on the Street, also an Emmy nominated director on The Shield), Ken Girotti (24, Law & Order, Rescue Me) will direct the pilot, with Malcolm MacRury as writer and show-runner.

Lawyers, Guns & Money was written by Malcolm MacRury (Deadwood, Canada Russia ’72, Lives of the Saints). Director of Photography is Luc Montpellier (Away From Her, Flashpoint) and Doug McCullough (Memory Keeper’s Daughter, Camp Rock) is the Production Designer. VP of Showcase and Drama Content Tara Ellis and Production Executive Susan Alexander are overseeing this pilot at Canwest.
