HOME SELLERS GAIN EDGE IN TODAY’S CHALLENGING REAL ESTATE MARKET ON SEASON TWO OF HGTV’S “THE STAGERS”

  • Season Two Premieres Wed., April 1 at 8:30 p.m. ET/ 10:30 p.m. PT on HGTV Canada

How can home sellers gain an edge in today’s challenging real estate market? By presenting each potential buyer with a ‘wow’ home that the buyer can imagine living in. For a second season, the stagers of DEKORA, one of Canada’s leading home staging companies, do just that. Delve into the frantic and fabulous world of home staging as our three lead stagers – Matthew Finlason, Bridget Savereux and Maureen Powers – utilize various design techniques that make the most out of each home while working within often tight budgets. A Paperny Films production, season two of “The Stagers” (13 x 30’) airs Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/10:30 p.m. PT beginning Wednesday, April 1 on HGTV Canada.

“’The Stagers’ has been a huge success in both Canada and the United States since launching in both countries simultaneously last year,” says Cal Shumiatcher, executive producer, Paperny Films. “From Maureen’s Feng Shui expertise to Bridget’s passion to Matthew’s boundless energy, each episode provides a little bit of knowledge and a lot of entertainment which is a winning formula for viewers.”

Each episode of “The Stagers” follows either DEKORA stager Matthew Finlason or mother-daughter duo Maureen Powers and Bridget Savereux as they work with sellers to makeover and maximize their spaces all the while keeping their projects on time and under budget in five days or less. From practical tricks on how to enhance your home’s curb appeal to the building tension between stagers and assistants when the pressure is on, each episode is a lesson in transforming a house from dated to designer. A rotating cast of co-stagers and assistant stagers help each main stager achieve their vision.

EPISODE 1: The Frame Job

Wed. Apr. 1 at 8:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 p.m. PT

Stager Matthew Finlason takes on a cluttered loft full of bulky furniture and bachelor décor. He has four days to transform the property into a chic, spacious home while staying within the parameters of a tight budget. Matthew and stager-in-training Rukiya will have to devise some stylish solutions without spending a lot of money.

EPISODE 2: A Tale of Two Condos

Wed. Apr. 8 at 8:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 p.m. PT

Mother and daughter duo Maureen Powers and Bridget Savereux are challenged to stage not one, but two cramped condos simultaneously. At 465 and 797 square feet respectively, prospective buyers are going to have a difficult time imagining how to live there. The stagers need to create the feeling of comfort and functionality in these small spaces while facing some new challenges – including two pillow-loving pugs.

Co-inciding with the Canadian release, the series will also air on HGTV US beginning Mon. Apr. 6, at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Why is Bridget SUCH a B***h! It’s truly sad how she treats her mother and I would be surprised if she is able to find a husband. She is controlling, bossy, abrasive and ugly inside and out!
