It was announced today that the highly-anticipated new SPACE/CTV Original Series THE LISTENER will now receive a special two-night, two-episode premiere, with both broadcasts strategically scheduled to follow summer’s biggest series, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, on CTV. THE LISTENER now premieres Wednesday, June 3 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on SPACE and at 10 p.m. ET on CTV (10 p.m. ET), immediately following a two-hour SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Episode 2 now premieres in its regular timeslot, Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on SPACE and at 10 p.m. ET on CTV, also immediately following SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Visit spacecast.com and CTV.ca to confirm local listings.

THE LISTENER is CTV Inc.’s latest original Canadian dramatic series to air on a major U.S. network in primetime. Following the SPACE/CTV/NBC North American premiere, encore episodes of THE LISTENER air Saturdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SPACE, on demand on spacecast.com and the CTV Video Player at CTV.ca, and on the go from popular online download stores.

A SPACE/CTV Original Production produced by Shaftesbury Films in association with NBC and FOX International Channels, THE LISTENER chronicles the experiences of Toby Logan (Craig Olejnik, The Timekeeper, In God’s Country), as he learns to master his telepathic gift to help people in desperate need while unravelling the truth about his own mysterious past. THE LISTENER also stars Ennis Esmer (BILLABLE HOURS, Young People F*#king) as Osman “Oz” Bey; Lisa Marcos (FLASHPOINT, KEVIN HILL) as Charlie Marks; Mylène Dinh-Robic, (STARGATE ATLANTIS, DA VINCI’S INQUEST) as Olivia Fawcett; and Colm Feore (24, Changeling) as Dr. Ray Mercer.

In the Canadian preview “I’m An Adult Now” (Wednesday, June 3 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on SPACE and 10 p.m. ET on CTV), Toby (Olejnik) rescues a young woman from a fiery car crash, but is then troubled by visions of her missing son.

In “Emotional Rescue” (Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on SPACE and 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV/NBC), Toby receives telepathic visions of an explosion, and is then able to save his former foster brother from an apartment fire. But with a reputation as a tweaker and cooker of crystal meth, the victim becomes the suspect.

THE LISTENER Online Experience at listener.ctv.ca allows visitors to experience the world as Toby does and “hear” people’s thoughts, see their inner-visions, and read their minds. Set in a 360 degree panoramic recreation of Toronto’s Dundas Square, the site is refreshed weekly with interactive features, online exclusive video, and previews of upcoming episodes. THE LISTENER Online Experience was created by Shaftesbury’s Digital Division Smokebomb Entertainment in conjunction with SPACE and CTV.

THE LISTENER also airs Saturdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on SPACE.

Created by Michael Amo (BLESSED STRANGER: AFTER FLIGHT 111), THE LISTENER was originally ordered to series by CTV and SPACE in December, 2007, and was picked up by NBC in February, 2008. Produced by Shaftesbury Films in association with SPACE, CTV, Fox International Channels, and NBC, the series is funded by the CHUM Trendsetters and Risktakers fund.
