New this fall:

CONVICTION KITCHEN

World-renowned executive chef, Marc Thuet, and his wife and business partner, Biana Zorich, put their reputations on the line with a high-stakes challenge that will push them – and their charges – to the limit In Conviction Kitchen, Marc and Biana have just three weeks to train a staff of former bank robbers, thieves and minor offenders, completely outfit a brand new business, and create an Italian menu around fresh and seasonal ingredients… But the real challenge will be making it beyond opening night — Because once the eatery opens, the restaurant’s motley crew have only three months to turn a profit – or their bosses will pull the plug, and they’ll lose their second, and for many – the last chance to turn their lives around.

Returning This Fall:

LESS THAN KIND – Season 2 – A Citytv Original Production

Picking up where season one left off – Sam Blecher (Maurie Chaykin, Blindness) is knocking on Death’s door. Anne’s (Wendel Meldrum, Queen of the Lot) anxiety is ratcheted up as she tries to be matriarch, nurse, entrepreneur and housewife. Josh (Benjamin Arthur, That One Night) is torn between his duties to his family, himself, his girlfriend – but mostly himself. Clara (Nancy Sorel, Cashing In) is the only somewhat sober, somewhat sane family member holding it together. Sheldon (Jesse Camacho, 12 and Holding) deals with further changes at school as his best friend Miriam (Brooke Palsson) is becoming more than just a friend. Sheldon and Miriam inherit a feral new partner to navigate the baffling maze of adolescence: Danny Lubbe (Tyler Johnston, Smallville).

Returning Mid-Season:

MURDOCH MYSTERIES – Season 3

Set in 1895 Toronto, Murdoch Mysteries explores the intriguing world of William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson, Sue Thomas F.B. Eye), a handsome young detective using radical forensic techniques, like fingerprinting and trace evidence, to solve some of the city’s most gruesome murders. Though his unconventional approach elicits ridicule from fellow officers and scepticism from his boss, Inspector Brackenreid (Thomas Craig, Coronation Street), Murdoch is often the only one who can crack the case. Murdoch’s small circle of confidantes includes pathologist Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy, Durham County), a staunch ally who shares the detective’s fascination with forensic science, and Constable George Crabtree (Jonny Harris, Hatching, Matching and Dispatching), Murdoch’s eager but inexperienced right-hand man. Both are valuable allies who help Murdoch solve his varied cases and traverse the many stratums of Victorian society.

Yeah! Murdoch Mysteries for the win!

  2. Werner Patels says:

Murdoch Mysteries – It’s the best Canadian show in a long time – perhaps ever – and clearly one of the best shows in the world!

  3. Linda says:

Whooo hoooo!!!! Another season of Murdoch – can’t wait. I recently discovered the show and will be buying Season 1 on dvd later this month and watching repeats of Season 2 this summer. I am also in the process of reading the books. The series is an absolute joy and fun to watch. I look forward to the new eps.

  4. Ty says:

Glad to hear Murdoch Mysteries and Less Than Kind are continuing

Both feature creative writing, wonderful actors, and real talent.
They both share the Canadian experience.

More programs like these would be welcomed.
Enough of the trashy so-called reality shows like The Hills and Bachelor.

  5. Marie says:

How come Murdoch doesn’t show up in the new line-up here: http://tvguide.sympatico.msn.ca/CTV+and+A+reveal+fall+schedules/TVNews/Articles/090603_ctv_a_fall_skeds_GD.htm?isfa=1??

  6. Diane says:

Because it’s not a CTV or A show. It’s from Citytv.

  7. Sherry says:

I am thrilled that Murdoch has been renewed for a 3rd season! I’m halfway through the book series and it’s terrific too. I appreciated being able to see last seasons episodes on the web – I’d missed a few.

  8. Elly says:

Yes! Season THREE for Murdoch Mysteries! Best news I’ve heard all day.

  9. Dana says:

Yes~ Thank goodness for Murdoch Mysteries! I thought they’d be doomed since they lost their production studio. By the way, I think Marie is wondering why CTV won’t air it, because CTV has been airing most of the episodes lately. At least, I believe they have. It is originally a CityTV show, so it’s more like that our third(apparently fourth?) season will be on CityTV.

    Go MM~

  10. Susannah says:

But when will it be on, now that Leno will be on at 2200??

  11. Diane says:

They’ve announced the schedule since this post – it’ll air Saturdays at 7 pm.

  12. Iden Ford says:

Diane, I think you are referring to the re-runs they will air in the Fall for Murdoch. My take is that season three will not be available for broadcast until 2010 at which time it would get slotted into a weekday time slot as well as repeating on a weekend time slot as they have done for the past two seasons.
Season three starts shooting this summer and they won’t be done until mid-end November.

  13. Diane says:

Nope, Citytv gives that as the S3 timeslot. No premiere date announced yet.

  14. Iden Ford says:

I put in a call to the publicist as that time slot makes no sense to me for a new set of episodes. I’ll let you know what I track down.

  15. Iden Ford says:

Season three will not be airing on Saturdays at 7 in the Fall. The time slot for season three will be announced for the Spring 2010. That 7:00 slot is referring to season two re runs. That is the word I have been given.

  16. Helen says:

My husband and I love this show. Terrific cast. Really looking forward to the 3rd season.

  17. JILL says:

I live in Bellingham, Washington and have a TV set up in my house, that is not connected to satelite, just so I can watch the Canadian shows. Murdoch Mysteries is my favorite and am so glad season 3 is coming.

  18. maudie says:

So glad to find other Murdoch fans! Can’t remember ever enjoying another show so much–in fact, MM is the ONLY show I regularly watch on TV. Have seen plenty in the past though, and the main reason I enjoy Murdoch so much is that it comes across as fresh compared to everything else on the box. Add to this the excellent casting and character development written into the scripts, and it’s no wonder we keep coming back for more.

  19. Barry says:

This is great news. Murdoch Mysteries, I believe, is the best show on television. In terms of quality, Foyle’s War
and Murdoch Mysteries were the cream of the crop.

  20. julia says:

can anyone tell me where to start with the murdoch books?
    which one is first?
and do they run with the series or are they stand alone?

    please help- mega confused! :(

  21. Iden Ford says:

Except the Dying first followed by Under The Dragons Tail, Poor Tom Is Cold, Let Loose the Dogs, Night’s Child, Vices of My Blood, A Journeyman to Grief
Those are the 7 novels in the Murdoch Series written by Maureen Jennings

  22. susan says:

so glad that it’s coming back for season, three, like others have said, it’s one of the best shows on tv, right now…..

    susan

  23. susan says:

i agree with you moudie, it is fresh, and hey, it’s about us….(in toronto), so what more can we want…..

now if only the americans would clue in…heard that the listener wasn’t too much of a hit, and they cancelled it, on nbc…..i just love the fact, that finally we’re getting series about us, and all that…but, it’s to bad, that they dont’ market it more…..

i’m still trying to figure out though, why it airs in england first……

    susan

  24. Michael Stephenson says:

Hi I too like Murdoch mysteries. It is a very refreshing change from all the sports and other garbage on Tv these days and as Murdoch Mysteries is filmed here in Toronto Canada and is canadian show is a big plus. I like that the show shadows sherlock holmes in its format is again a plus I hope that it will not only be carried into 2010 but hopefully 2011 and beyond as well I believe it has at least a seven year life and if the writers are as good as they seem to be at this point Murdoch could go on for ten or more years. With a bit of luck.
Anyway if anyone knows if this is a real possibilty could they Please lets us know.

  25. Iden Ford says:

As long as CITY TV wants the show to carry on, there is no reason why it won’t. Keep telling your friends, family and all you know to watch the show. Season three is coming in the Spring of 2010.

  26. Susan says:

Murdoch Mysteries is definitely my favourite TV show. I’ve been watching since Season One and will continue to watch it, hopefully, for a long time to come. I also think it’s great that it’s set here in Toronto, Canada. Look forward to watching Season Three in 2010.

  27. Laraine Murray says:

Murdoch Mysteries is the best show I have watched for years. I am also so happy everyone else loves it too. I think Murdoch is the best actor and I’m proud that the actors are Canadian.

  28. Isabelle Grieves says:

Murdoch Mysteries is an excellent Canadian production and I enjoy seeing Coronation Street actors appearing as well. I miss “me mucker” on the Street and love it when he says it to Murdoch.

  29. Brenda says:

I’m looking so forward to the return of the Murdoch Mysteries in 2010. My sister and mother have developed a keen interest in it as well. I am familiar with Thomas Craig from Coronation Street as I am an avid fan of that show. It’s great to have a Canadian production that creates such interest.

  30. davem says:

Murdoch mysteries is an excellent show and my girl and I are very happy indeed it is returning. Does anyone know where it is being filmed?

  31. Myk Thunderiron says:

My Lady and I are very happy that Murdoch Mysteries is going into a third season. It would be wonderful to see the return of notables Sarah Pensell, Tesla, And Arthur Cohnan Doyle. In particular the energy between Sarah Pensell and William Murdoch was refreshing. Nice to see the good doctor get some real competition.

  32. Michelle says:

Yay Murdoch Mysteries Season 3!!!! When’s it starting already? I can’t find a date anywhere?

  33. Murray says:

I am glad that Murdoch is returning. It is a great and interesting show. A combination of mystery, history and the beginnings of scientific forensics. The tensions between the characters also make it character driven not soley plot driven. Excellent series. Looking forward to the next season.

  34. Pamela says:

Love Murdoch Mysteries & so pleased it has been renewed for season 3!

  35. Mary says:

Murdoch Mysteries, in my opinion, is the best show on TV. I’m eagerly looking forward to Season 3! All of the cast is terrific, and so believable in their parts. Yannick Bisson is fabulous — I hope he wins some awards for his portrayal!

  36. Talia says:

LOVE Murdoch Mysteries, Yannick Bisson is awesome! (not to mention good looking) I simply cannot wait, but unfortunately I must. Constable Crabtree deserves a nod as well.

  37. Lizzy says:

Murdoch Mysteries is my all-time favourite Canadian TV show – love all of the cast!
When will the 2010 series start?

There is also the UK series with other actors, also a very fine cast but hope – no I insist – that the Canadian version will continue for the next few years.

  38. Jane says:

With so much junk on television, US and Canadian, it is a relief that Murdoch is returning. At least there is one TV show I can watch!!!!

  39. Judy says:

No such thing as “too much Murdoch”! As good as it gets. Keep it coming; in fact, make it into a full season series. Its obvious both the writing and the acting have the chops…

  40. June & Bob says:

have been waiting to hear when and where…..we love the show and the cast….policing runs in our family…my dad was one and my hubby was OPP and i worked 5 years for RCMP so its nice to see a series based on Canadian policing….it might be fiction but it looks so much like how forensics started :)

  41. Shelody says:

According to http://www.maureenjennings.com/ Season Three begins airing in Canada on Friday March 5th at 10:00 PM.

  42. Anonymous says:

Does anyone know when Season 3 will be starting? I’ve been watching Season 2 repeats but want some new stuff SOON!!!!
