Healthy Gourmet premieres July 4 on VIVA

From a media release:

HEALTHY GOURMET – SERIES PREMIERE

Produced by Kaleidoscope Entertainment in association with VIVA, Healthy Gourmet is a half-hour series that follows nutritionist Julie Daniluk and Chef Ezra Title as they tackle the ever present battle between taste and nutrition, helping home cooks create nutritious and tasty meals that can feed a crowd. In each episode, Julie and Ezra try to help a group of people find the right balance between food that’s healthy for the heart and tasty for the tongue. Whether at a ballroom dance academy, or an all female motorcycle club, the goal of each episode is a food truce, as Ezra and Julie try to help their subject spice up the flavour while creating a healthy meal.

In the first episode, Ezra and Julie pay a visit to the Markham Firehall in order to try and save their kitchen by introducing tasty and nutritious recipes. Will the firefighters enjoy these new heart-healthy meals or will Ezra and Julie’s efforts go up in flames? Viewers can tune in to see these two hosts go head-to-head in the name of food when Healthy Gourmet premieres Saturday, July 4 at 7:30 p.m.

  1. Where can I get the recipes form the healthy gourmet and other viva cook shows?

    1. I am looking for the lamb chops recipe and the vegetables on the how with the hockey gals. I saw it Feb 12 on “Viva”.

  2. I watched the Healthy Gourmet on Saturday and quite enjoyed it. The personalities of the Chef and the Nutritionist counterbalance each other well. I was a little uncomfortable with the “intervention” premice. However, the ‘victim’ was very good natured and receptive.
The introduction of ‘hormone balancing’ foods is not something I had seen before. I think there’s a place for this show in the crowded ‘cooking show’ market.
Thank you – Lynn, Brampton, Ontario

  3. This show is off to a great start. I particularly enjoyed the fact that the ingredients used in the makeover recipes were simple, fresh, and easy to find. Learning to use fresh herbs more effectively to provide flavour, instead of fat, will be well worth the watch.

  4. Just watched a show about rock climbers where they had to feed a vegetarian and a woman who needed gluten free and one who had to avoid milk products. You might be interested to know that, as a vegetarian, I would not have been able to eat much of anything – vegetarians DO NOT EAT SEAFOOD!!! If you are “vegetarian” and eat seafood, you are “pescatarian”. Also, where were the greens? A salad would not have taken up much room and would have increased the fibre and micronutrient content of the meal.

  5. Watchin healthy gourmet would like to get the recipes finding it difficult. Can you please let me know how to get recipes. Also Julie make flaxseed crackers is there a recipe for these.
    Thank

  6. Just like a lot of people, I want to know where to get the recipes for meals cooked on Healthy gourmet. Am not having any luck
