In its most explosive season yet, CBC’s Gemini award-winning hit show, THE BORDER, delivers more action and gripping storylines than ever, picking up from last season’s cliffhanger finale — a firefight with a vicious gang. Premiering on CBC Television on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9 p.m., season three opens with Major Mike Kessler (James McGowan) critically wounded and wracked with guilt. Deemed a rogue cop, Gray Jackson (Graham Abbey) is suspended, while Liz Carver (Grace Park) fights for her life in a Washington hospital. Language specialist Khalida Massi (Athena Karkanis) joins the Squad, impressing colleagues with her motorcycle and her martial arts training, and Slade (Jonas Chernick) is completely smitten.

Ponzi schemes and white supremacists. honour killings and attempted presidential assassinations. China, Africa, Russia, Afghanistan, Britain and the United States, people and conflicts from around the world play a role in THE BORDER.

As he tries to restore the Squad to its former strength and unity, Kessler struggles with powerful emotions – guilt, anger, suspicion and lust for MI-6 agent Charlotte Bates (Daisy Beaumont), and the surprising rekindling of his love for Terri (Julie Stewart), his soon-to-be-married ex-wife. While Kessler works to restore morale at the ICS, suspended cop Gray Jackson has his own plan: to avenge the deaths of everyone he has lost in the firefight.

Sophia Milos (CSI: Miami, The Sopranos) returns as DHS Agent Bianca LaGarda. Season three guest stars include Tonya Lee Williams (The Young and the Restless, Poor Boy’s Game), Arsinée Khanjian (Ararat, Adoration), Mimi Kuzyk (Sophie, Blue Murder), Kristin Booth (Prairie Giant, The Tommy Douglas Story, Young People Fucking), Patrick McKenna (The Red Green Show, Traders) television veteran Art Hindle (Paradise Falls, MVP) and Al Sapienza (The Sopranos).

Nominated for nine 2009 Gemini Awards including Best Dramatic Series, THE BORDER is a hit at home and around the world. The series was nominated by the Monte Carlo Television Festival for five awards including, Best Dramatic TV Series.
