MuchMusic’s Gemini-nominated, breakout original series DISBAND makes its triumphant rock ‘n roll return on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. ET. With one jam packed audition sneak peak and 13 brand new episodes, DISBAND’s Season 2 puts aspiring bands through a one week rock star boot camp. Under the watchful eye of DISBAND Guru Greig Nori and host Much VJ Sarah Taylor, the bands receive direct industry exposure, an all-important, true-to-life insider’s look at what the music biz is really all about, and a chance to perform in front of the country’s music industry elite. A panel of judges decide if their future is bright enough to be in the music biz or, if not, to DISBAND. The 13 new artists chosen for Season 2 to be announced soon.

The first season changed the lives of two bands – Stereos and Dean Lickyer – who both signed record deals with major labels as a direct result of the series. Stereos first single, “Summer Girl” hit #1 on iTunes less than 48 hours after their DISBAND episode aired last May and stayed there for five days achieving double platinum status. Their second single, “Throw Ya Hands Up” made them the first band in history to achieve two consecutive #1 hits on the Billboard Canadian Emerging Chart. They’ve opened for Katy Perry, toured with The Midway State, and played the Virgin Festival all within the last six months. Their numerous appearances on MUCHONDEMAND have welcomed some of the biggest crowds and loudest screams of the past year. Dean Lickyer has also been gaining momentum in their own right, with Gene Simmons’ dubbing them the best band at Canadian Music Week 2009 and awarding them $10,000 to prove it.

This season Taylor and Nori are joined by judges Mark Spicoluk (Universal Music, A&R), Collin Lewis (The Agency Group), Katie Clark (Underground Operations – Management), and Chase Parsons (Chris Smith Management).
