  • Callum Keith Rennie to star as homicide detective with a secret
  • Molly Parker joins talented cast

E1 Entertainment and Force Four Films announced today that principal photography is underway on the Canadian original television series, Shattered. The series stars acclaimed actor Callum Keith Rennie (24, FlashForward, Battlestar Galactica, Californication) who plays a smart and unconventional homicide detective with a chilling secret. Gemini-Award winning actor, Camille Sullivan (Intelligence, Reunion, Da Vinci’s Inquest) plays Amy Lynch, Rennie’s new partner on the homicide squad. Molly Parker (The Road, Deadwood, Swingtown) is set to play Rennie’s wife, Ella. This raw and emotional drama series is filming in and around Vancouver. Shattered is scheduled to air on Showcase in 2010, and is currently being shopped in the US by E1 Entertainment.

Callum Keith Rennie plays Ben Sullivan, a tough, smart homicide detective with Dissociative Identity Disorder, also known as Multiple Personality Disorder. In the first moments of the series, Ben is bonded in blood to his tough, beautiful partner Amy Lynch, played by Camille Sullivan. While they work to solve the murder cases that cross their desk daily, Ben copes with the fascinating complexities of his secret disorder, and the uncertainty of never knowing which alternate personality will surface, or when.

Series regulars include actors Karen LeBlanc (Defying Gravity, ReGenesis) as Sergeant Pam ‘TC’ Garrett, Clé Bennett (Barney’s Version, The Line) as John ‘Hall’ Holland a young, handsome and ambitious detective and Martin Cummins (Dark Angel) plays Terry Rhodes, Ben’s best friend and ex-partner.

  1. That tongue planted firmly in cheek is pointed at E1 for their release, not our illustrious editor and webmistress.

  2. Yeah, I will confess to cutting off the list of executive producer names and some “rah rah” quotes, but no one was identified as writer. I do have an interview “in the can” from a while ago with creator Rick Drew so I’ll be giving him some props later …

  3. I think it’s great Canadian television continues to promote our talented actors! No doubt, Callum Keith Rennie and Camille Sullivan are great actors. And great it’s shooting in Vancouver, too!

I do have one gripe…doing a search on imdb.com, I note that the cast regulars are well mixed, BUT…why are there (almost) NO asian regulars in Canadian shows? We watch tv, too! Thanks for letting this asian vent…lol!

  4. Eddy,

You need to get a hold of the “Dr. Horrible’s Singalong Blog” DVD. InS the alternate, musical commentary track, writer Maurissa Tancharoen sings her song “Nobody’s Asian In The Movies”.

  5. I just found out about this totally by accident while googling. I know this guy’s face but (until now) not his name. I really enjoyed Callum Keith Rennie on Battlestar Galactica! I am looking forward to his new series. I live in the United States. Will they broadcast it here? I hope so! What channel will it be on? When will it air? Looking forward to more details!

Please, make sure this gets publicized on TV in the United States if it is going to air there (commercials, talk shows, etc.) so people know to watch! (Also, shows like Entertainment Tonight in the U.S.).

    Thank you!

  6. Ah, I hope this gets a US broadcast. I really like Callum Keith Rennie, he’s excellent in Due South and everything else. And the premise sounds really interesting.

I’m gonna go nuts if we don’t get it here, seriously, this sounds amazing.
