Dragons’ Den auditions

From a media release:

  • Attention budding entrepreneurs! Auditions start March 2

Fresh off the highest-rated season yet, CBC Television’s DRAGONS’ DEN is embarking on an epic audition tour. Due to overwhelming demand, producers are expanding the search to over 40 stops. From the Great White North to the edges of every coast, DRAGONS’ DEN is seeking Canadians with creative ideas and money-making savvy to make the case for cash. Successful candidates will make their way to the Den for a chance to appear in front of the Dragons in the new season.

With five seasons under her belt, host Dianne Buckner has seen it all. Here are her tips for local entrepreneurs who want to triumph on DRAGONS’ DEN:

  • Sell it! – “We want to see confident, well-rehearsed and convincing pitches. And remember, it’s a TV show, not a boardroom.”
  • Know your numbers – “The most common mistake entrepreneurs make is over-estimating the value of their businesses. Know your numbers and be realistic.”
  • Show them the money – “It’s no secret that the Dragons love money, so be explicit about how your business will turn a profit.”

  1. I am originally from Newfoundland and now live in the US, we have a new innovated patent pending product (pat. pend. for the USA and Canada) could I try out for your auditions. My brother and I always talk back and forth about the show and how great it would be for me to get a chance to go before the dragons. Our new product has already been field tested and has no rival product competition, with the backing of the dragons money and experience in business our new innovated product would reach it’s full market potential and would make for a profitable investment for all. Thank-you Robert

  3. hi my name is nickolas and iam looking to do a cooking show, slash cancer fund raising reality tv show on mondays when my my restaurant is closed. 3 course meal will be served, no choices, no bill, just a donation for cancer. The monies raised would be seen on evry epesoid on a didgital billboard, and veiwers would see the donations groing. they would partisipate in were the donated money should be spent by calling in just like they do with dancing with the stars. celebrety chefs, mothers, grandmothers, any one who wants to be a part of our show and is willing to cook a starter dish, main dish and a dessert for free is welcome. reservations will only be confermed 2 weekes befor the show. reserved seats go to the highest donaters. proventing cancer will be my main focus rather than a cure, but it would all be dicused on live tv or internet. I have been self employed in the resaurant buisiness for over 15 years and Iam 39 years of age.
