Brett Wilson departs Dragons’ Den

CBC TV ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE OF W. BRETT WILSON FROM DRAGONS’ DEN

  • Fall 2011 will see a new Dragon in the Den

CBC Television announced today that W. Brett Wilson will be leaving Dragons’ Den at the end of the current season. A search for a new Dragon has commenced and a successful candidate is expected to be announced in coming weeks.

“We’d like to thank Brett for his many contributions to Dragons’ Den over the past three successful seasons and the positive influence he’s had on Canadian entrepreneurs,” says Julie Bristow, executive director, Factual Entertainment, CBC Television. “Unfortunately, we were unable to reach an agreement on the terms of his contract. We wish him the best for all of his future endeavours.”

All four other Dragons, Arlene Dickinson, Robert Herjavec, Kevin O’Leary and Jim Treliving are in place for next season.

Pitchers’ auditions for season six are currently underway across Canada. For more details, visit http://www.cbc.ca/dragonsden/audition. Production for season six is scheduled to begin in spring 2011.

Currently in its fifth season, DRAGONS’ DEN is the highest-rated Canadian entertainment program and airs Wednesdays at 8pm (8:30NT) on CBC Television. The current season continues until March 30th.

  1. Really sorry to see Brett leave the show, he did the most deals and was a great friendly face to both business and Canada !!
