New tonight: Good Dog on HBO Canada – series premiere

Premieres Sunday, March 6 with the first two episodes back-to-back starting at 8 p.m.

Award-winning writer and producer Ken Finkleman (The Newsroom) returns to television in Good Dog. Starring Finkleman and Lauren Lee Smith (CSI; The L Word), the sharply ironic series focuses on the life of George (Finkleman), a self-absorbed, neurotic TV producer. After hooking up with Claire, a gorgeous model half his age, George negotiates his new reality of dating a younger woman by pitching a reality show about his high concept, highly coveted, seriously volatile life. But when network executives insist that Claire move into his house, George is forced to escalate the relationship and consequently, his fears of commitment. When the pitch and his life go sideways, he frets, vents and reevaluates by soliciting questionable advice from his best friend Doug (Jason Weinberg).

  1. What a blatant rip off of Curb your Enthusiasm! A terrible, boring, watered down version of curb.

  2. Loved it! It’s brilliant and bring lot of laugh in our home!
Superior performance than Curb your Enthusiasm as it’s getting more anoying to watch.
Need new show like The Good Dog! Keep the good work

  3. I saw two episodes on my overseas flight, and was left hungry for more. Sophisticated, wry, in a real place, real identities — though requiring me to play along. I agree with Suze that it is superior to Curb your enthusasm and would go further to say it’s nothing like Curb or anything. My flight was four days ago,and I am still thinking about the two, only two, episodes, and smiling.
