Lauren Ash, 28, has a lead role in Almost Heroes, a new comedy debuting June 2 on the Showcase channel. “It’s exciting because it’s new and it’s Canadian and it’s really, really funny,” Ash said Monday from Los Angeles. But executive producer Jason Belleville — no connection to the city — has both a request and a warning for citizens here. “Please support your local talent,” Belleville said Monday in a telephone interview from the Toronto area. “I don’t want to guilt everyone in Belleville into watching but if the show gets cancelled, it’s their fault,” he joked.
