Robert Herjavec leaving Dragons’ Den

From a media release:

CBC DRAGON ROBERT HERJAVEC DEPARTS THE DEN

CBC Television announced today that Robert Herjavec, one of five entrepreneurs on the hit series DRAGONS’ DEN, will not be returning to DRAGONS’ DEN for the 2012-2013 season.

“Robert—one of our original Dragons—has been a positive role model for many Canadian entrepreneurs,” said Julie Bristow, executive director of studio and unscripted programming. “While we’re sorry to see him go after six phenomenally successful seasons, we wish him well in his future endeavours.”

A search for a new Dragon is currently in progress, Bristow said, with casting taking place this week. “We anticipate that, as with all the Dragons, the new Dragon will bring his or her own unpredictable chemistry to this exciting show.”

  1. Very sorry to see Robert go. We lost Brett last year and now Robert. Robert brought a great energy to the den, and he wasn’t afraid to look silly sometimes, especially when he ripped his trousers. :-)
