Everything about Battle of the Blades, eh?

Marcy Hinzmann-Harris and Todd Simpson first Battle of the Blades eliminations

From a media release:

MARCY HINZMANN-HARRIS AND TODD SIMPSON ARE THE FIRST ICED PAIR ON BATTLE OF THE BLADES

  • Violetta Afanasieva and Cale Hulse return for another week

BOTB3 - Week 2 - Ep 4 - Marcy Todd with Ron MacLean

Marcy Hinzmann-Harris and Todd Simpson are the first “iced” pair on Season 3 of BATTLE OF THE BLADES. Despite giving a heartfelt performance, it wasn’t enough to keep them in this fiercely competitive live TV series. The pair of Violetta and Cale, also in the bottom two, will remain in the show for their chance to win a $100,000 donation to their chosen charity, the Canadian Cancer Society.

Skating to “Apologize” by OneRepublic, Marcy and Todd impressed the audience with how much they’ve improved since they began. However, Head Judge Sandra Bezic, Resident Judge Jeremy Roenick and Guest Judge Theo Fleury agreed that Violetta and Cale performed better in tonight’s “skate-off.” For Marcy and Todd’s efforts, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and the YMCA Strong Kids will each receive a $12,500 donation in their honour.

Viewers can watch the next anticipated one-hour performance show on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT) on CBC Television, featuring all-new live performances from the remaining seven pairs: Violetta Afanasieva and Cale Hulse; Tanith Belbin and Boyd Devereaux; Elena Berezhnaya and Curtis Leschyshyn; Tessa Bonhomme and David Pelletier; Marie-France Dubreuil and Bryan Berard; Anabelle Langlois and Brad May; and Kim Navarro and Russ Courtnall. Broadcast from the MasterCard Centre, the live performance show will be followed by the dramatic, half-hour “skate-off” results show on Monday, October 10 at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT).
