US version of Being Erica in the works

  • ABC to adapt Canadian series ‘Being Erica’
    “ABC is developing a U.S. version of Canadian hit “Being Erica,” which currently airs on Alphabet sister cabler SoapNet. Maggie Friedman (“Eastwick”) will write the U.S. version and exec produce. David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, who head up Toronto-based Temple Street Prods., which produces the original series, will also exec produce. ABC Studios is behind the U.S. adaptation.” Read more.

Being Erica ends “mercurial” third season tonight

    “Being Erica ends its third season tonight after a 13-week run that can best be described as “mercurial.” Although Season 3 had its high points (such as when the show delved into Dr. Tom’s backstory, or whenever Season 2 cast member Sebastian Pigott returned for a guest spot), the remaining episodes seemed scattered, without any real focus. Even worse, the writers tried to force plot points down our throats without having earned them.” Read more.
