  “Have you ever heard of the author Douglas Coupland? He writes novels with a comical nod to pop culture, though the main plot might be gravely serious. In the case of jPod, it was just another book about that generation of young professionals who graduated in an era when computer science was the hottest destination under the sun. Coupland wrote a few books about this generation (they’re all worth checking out), but only jPod found its way as a television show. Guess what? You probably never heard of it.   “Jude swills wine with Blood Ties scribes Shelley Eriksen (Cold Squad, Show Me Yours) and Dennis Heaton (Fido, Jpod), as well as writer Edward Kay (22 Minutes, Jimmy Two Shoes) about vampires, women in the writers room, Deadwood with a laugh track, and so much more; Eriksen and Heaton also geek out on Battlestar and its coming prequel, Caprica. ” Listen here.

• Leo Awards recognize the B.C. film and TV industry
  “jPod, which has been cancelled by CBC, picked up four Leos, including best guest performance by a female for Babz Chula. Chula has cancer and was too ill to attend, but in an acceptance speech delivered by actor Ben Ratner, she said too many shows win awards after they’re cancelled.” Read more.

• jPod and Normal lead Leos
  “The full slate of Leo Award nominees was announced on April 21, as a follow-up to the first round of announcements on April 9. The now-cancelled jPod leads the dramatic-series categories with 15 nominations, including best dramatic series and best direction. All four nominations for best screenwriting in a dramatic series went to jPod for four separate episodes. Smallville, Tin Man, and Flash Gordon followed with seven nominations each for dramatic series.” Read more.
