Bitten season 2 premiere attracts 401,000 viewers

Final data from Numeris (BBM Canada) confirms that the Season 2 premiere of Space’s most watched original series BITTEN on February 7 attracted 401,000 viewers, building upon its Season 1 average by 16%, and ranking as the #1 Specialty program of the day. In its 9-10 p.m. ET timeslot, Space was also the #1 specialty network for A18-49 and total viewers. Viewers can catch up on Season 1 on CraveTV™. In this week’s episode, “Hell’s Teeth,” (Saturday, Feb. 21 at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT.), when a new threat proves to be more powerful than anticipated, both The Pack and The Coven suffer heavy losses in the confrontation.

Airing immediately following all-new episodes of BITTEN at 10 p.m. ET, INNERSPACE: AFTER BITE is the newest series from Bell Media Productions. Along with the cast, crew, and other special guests, AFTER BITE offers BITTEN fans a chance to revel in the events that just unfolded in the most recent episode. Each episode features lively discussions about revealing hints at plot twists, theories on future episodes, special segments including secrets from set, fan interaction and a weekly online poll. This week’s AFTER BITE episode welcomes Alpha Pack leader Greg Bryk (Jeremy Danvers), and a surprise guest.

BITTEN’s digital companion The Undoing, supports the storyline for the second season, delving into the rich backstory of a mysterious new character revealed in Season 2, by releasing a series of “found” materials, original photos, videos, and footage from the series. A Bell Fund initiative, with support from No Equal Entertainment, Entertainment One Television (eOne), and Hoodwink Entertainment, The Undoing will populate new content throughout the season in conjunction with each new episode.

Ratings: Saving Hope season finale nabs 1.34 million viewers

In what was an emotional and shocking Season 3 finale of CTV’s hit original drama SAVING HOPE, the series saw a season-high overnight audience of 1.34 million viewers, preliminary data from Numeris (BBM Canada) confirms. Winning the night in the key A25-54 demo, SAVING HOPE also won its 10 p.m. ET timeslot, leading STALKER (Global/CBS) in total viewers (+37%), as well as the key A18-49 (+20%) and A25-54 (+41%) demos. In all, 2.7 million English-language Canadians watched some or all of the finale, which saw #SavingHope trend on Twitter across Canada throughout the broadcast. The unforgettable season finale is available on demand on CTV.ca, CTV GO, and CraveTV. Viewers can also enjoy all three seasons of SAVING HOPE on CraveTV.

SAVING HOPE’s Season 3 finale was up 28% over its episode a week ago*, and the finale also saw an overnight season-high audience in the key A18-49 and A25-54 demos.

Recently named a finalist for a Golden Screen Award at this year’s Canadian Screen Awards, SAVING HOPE’s gripping season finale saw life and death collide as Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) became a new mom, delivering a healthy baby boy named Luke Reid. In a shocking turn of events, the episode culminated in a devastating accident at an offsite army base.

Ending its third season as Canada’s most-watched original drama in the key adult demos, SAVING HOPE has a current season average audience of 1.4 million total viewers on CTV, Numeris (BBM Canada) final data confirms. As previously announced, 18 new episodes of SAVING HOPE have been ordered from IFC Films and Entertainment One (eOne), with production set to begin on Season 4 this summer in Toronto, bringing the series total to 67 episodes.

CBC schedule garners record-breaking numbers

CBC-TV is a primetime destination for Canadians this winter season, with a lineup of new and returning hits that continue to deliver strong ratings across all key demographics.With 1.3 million Canadians on average tuning in to watch THE BOOK OF NEGROES miniseries on Tuesday night, new confirmed data shows THE BOOK OF NEGROES debuted to an audience of 1.941 million people. THE NATIONAL also garnered impressive numbers on Tuesday night, with an audience of just over 1 million Canadians tuning in following THE BOOK OF NEGROES.

CBC WINTER SEASON RATINGS HIGHLIGHTS:

THE BOOK OF NEGROES premiere captured an audience of 2+AMA of 1.941 million. Confirmed audience data shows that more than 1.9 million Canadians watched the premiere episode of THE BOOK OF NEGROES on Jan. 7, with 1.6 million returning for the second episode the following week

SCHITT’S CREEK premiere captured an audience 2+AMA of 1.581 million, followed by 1.55 million for episode two at 9:30pm on January 13

MURDOCH MYSTERIES returned on Jan. 12 to a 2+AMA of 1.387 million viewers, which was the highest-rated episode of the season

RICK MERCER REPORT captured an audience of 2+AMA of 923,000 upon return on Jan. 13, with 1.109 million viewers tuning in on Jan. 20 — the highest viewership for RMR of the season so far

THE NATIONAL saw an audience of  2+AMA of 1.208 million on Jan. 7 and 1.001 million on Jan. 13, a record number for the 2014/15 season

HEARTLAND consistently garners more than 1 million viewers per episode, bringing in an audience of a 2+AMA of 1.027 million on Jan. 11 and 1.036 million on Jan. 18

THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES secured an audience of  2+AMA of 889,000 on Jan. 13, and 977, 000 on Jan. 20, which was its highest-rated episode since the 2013/14 season

DRAGONS’ DEN continues to capture the attention of Canadians, bringing in an average audience of about 1 million viewers each week

The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announces the creation of two new television awards: the Golden Screen Award for the most-watched Canadian Drama/Comedy Series and one for the country’s highest-rated Reality Series.

The Golden Screen Award for TV Drama / Comedy and the Golden Screen Award for TV Reality Show are Academy Special Awards which will be presented alongside the Golden Screen Award for Feature Film during the LIVE broadcast of the Canadian Screen Awards on CBC, March 1, 8pm nationwide (8:30 NT).
