Tonight: W5 presents God Save Justin Trudeau
W5 Presents: God Save Justin Trudeau, CTV
Before his historic political ascent to becoming Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau prepared for another epic battle – a 2012 charity boxing match that pitted him against then-Conservative Senator Patrick Brazeau. Premiering Saturday, Dec. 27 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, CTV GO, and on-demand on CTV NEWS GO, W5 presents “GOD SAVE JUSTIN TRUDEAUâ€, a behind-the-scenes documentary chronicling an unguarded and determined Trudeau as he readies for the ring in a quest to raise funds for Canadian cancer foundation, Fight for the Cure. The film delivers a rare glimpse into the landscape of federal politics in Canada through a rather unique and unfiltered lens.
With screenings of the feature-length documentary in Quebec theatres in November 2014, followed by a broadcast premiere in Quebec, “GOD SAVE JUSTIN TRUDEAU†sparked debate across the province as to modern media’s influence on politics. The film also generated speculation over whether this candid view of Trudeau might help or harm his political fortunes with a federal election looming in 2015. Produced by Montréal’s Productions de la Ruelle, and the award-winning filmmaking duo Guylaine Maroist and Éric Ruel, W5 delivers an abbreviated, made-for-television cut and English Canada premiere of the documentary in this special broadcast presentation.

Link: Ron James back on TV and wildly funny
From Jim Bawden:
I usually get to interview Ron James once a year when his TV series comes back on CBC. And once is enough for me –the guy is wickedly funny and once my ribs hurt a bit after a nonstop telephone chat filled with his joking.
This year it’s different.
James’s well liked series is gone from CBC-TV because a new administration is trying to remake the schedule to its own liking. Continue reading.
Comments and queries for the week of Dec. 26
The bulk of this week’s comments had to do with the results of our year-end poll where Lost Girl came out on top as your Favourite Canadian TV Show of 2014.Â
You name some great shows. Have you tried watching Lost Girl? And Big Brother is the same American or Canadian and supports us Canadians. The point of these polls is so we can get Canadian shows out there so people are like, “I’m going I binge on this Canadian show.”–Chelsea
Canadian dramas are not glitzy like most U.S. shows, but that’s what’s great about them. I watch most–Heartland, Blackstone, Arctic Air etc.–it’s like I’m walking out my front door and right into them … real, believable people. Heartland is at times is a bit “corny” but if it doesn’t bring a tear to your eye, you’re not human!–John
And a few fans had something to say about the most recent episode of Saving Hope too.
I find it hard to believe that Joel fought hard for Alex all this time and when he had her, he messed up like that. I know Daniel Gillies is juggling two shows but it was unbelievable. They should have found another way to break them up.–Evelyn
