  1. Not sure about that headline. There are plenty of “significant” Canadian showrunners. They might not have won an Emmy but their shows have had just as much impact, even without the Netflixes to instantly distribute them around the world. PS Anne of Green Gables is kind of cheating. Of course it will do well. It’s one of Canada’s most recognizable IPs. Let her create an original show and see if it does as well. That would be a greater test.
