When a retired lighthouse keeper with Alzheimer’s goes missing, it stirs up Carly’s guilt for abandoning her father. Ursula finds Tina in a compromising position in Miro’s hotel room and gives Miro the boot, landing him in Laura’s guest house. Carly finds Wendell camping out, about to revert back to drugs.
Season Finale? What did they make — like six of them? Wow, the CanWest commitment to Canadian television is staggering isn’t it!
From what I can gather, they filmed eight episodes before winter, and plan to start shooting the other five in March. This “season finale” is the seventh episode. Curiously, the eighth episode, “The Hold”, is in JAM’s listings for the following week on Mystery TV and CJON (NTV).
Yeah, I don’t know what to make of it, but in the original press kit they only listed 7 episodes, too. I guess it makes sense to call the next batch “season two” since they haven’t filmed them yet, though (they apparently stopped for the winter so as not to freeze the actors to death – gotta give them credit for something).
I really enjoyed The Guard and was very disappointed that it was so short lived. I am looking forward to the new season and hope it starts very soon.
Just as we get 2 really good Canadian shows to watch weekly- the Border and The Guard- there they are: Gone until fall.
I really hope I can see the Guard on Dutch television some day!
