Leah Miller To Host So You Think You Can Dance Canada

CTV announced today that Leah Miller has been named the host of CTV’s newest original series, So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Currently host of the MuchMusic series MuchOnDemand, Miller’s first assignment is to join the So You Think You Can Dance Canada cross-country audition tour, waltzing into Vancouver on Monday, April 7. Miller will be on the entire audition road trip making stops in Halifax (May 5), Calgary (May 12), Montreal (May 27) and her hometown of Toronto (June 10). For up-to-date audition information, visit the series’ official website, dance.ctv.ca.
Additional cast members will be announced soon.

As the host of So You Think You Can Dance Canada (SYTYCD Canada), Miller will be the eyes and ears of Canadian viewers at each stop on the audition tour. Chatting with competitors and the judges, she will have the inside scoop on Canada’s dancing talent from across the country. Once the series debuts this fall on CTV, Miller will introduce the finalists and interact with the competitors and judges in her role as host of the live episodes.

“Leah’s vibrant charm, previous hosting experience and knowledge of dance makes her an ideal host for this exciting new series,” said Susanne Boyce, President, Creative, Content and Channels, CTV Inc. “Fun, smart and quick on her feet, viewers and competitors will fall in love with her.”

“I cried my eyes out when I found out – I am ecstatic!” said Miller. “I have such respect for what dancers are capable of and I am a huge fan of the format. Hosting the homegrown edition of So You Think You Can Dance is such a privilege for me.”

From host of MuchOnDemand to the new host of SYTYCD Canada, Miller has come a long way from the audition that landed her a job with Canada’s flagship music station, MuchMusic. As a three time host of the MuchMusic Video Awards and co-host of MuchOnDemand, Miller has chatted with some of the hottest stars and musical acts around, including Gwen Stefani, Halle Berry, Kanye West, Avril Lavigne, Rihanna, Matthew McConaughey, Fergie, Good Charlotte and many more. She recently hosted Live@Much specials featuring Hedley, The Killers, The All-American Rejects and Hilary Duff.

A music and dance aficionado, Miller tapped into the dance world at a
young age when she was enrolled in baby ballet class. Miller won the title of “Miss Junior Dance of Canada” when she was 13 and danced competitively until the age of 16. That experience gives her first hand knowledge of the hard work and dedication it takes to become a competitive dancer. Miller has huge respect for dancers at the level the series demands. Her passion for the fine arts and previous hosting and interviewing experience prepares her for this exciting leap into her latest gig.
