In the news: Robson Arms

John Doyle of the Globe and Mail talks to the people behind Robson Arms:

  • Robson Arms’ special qualities are apparent even during filming
“Making the series is something of a juggling act for producers. Cast members Gabrielle Miller and Fred Ewanuick are also working on Corner Gas and rarely available. John Cassini also stars in Intelligence. The shooting schedule is deftly shifted around to accommodate their availability. Amazingly, with all this juggling going on, the atmosphere on the Robson Arms set is laidback and happy. Those elusive actors want to be part of Robson Arms and the producers want them back. Everybody seems serene because they know they’re making a special kind of television – smart, heartfelt and funny, the kind of TV to savour over and over again.”

In the news: Interview with John Cassini

John Doyle of the Globe and Mail talks to John Cassini of Intelligence and Robson Arms:

  • Hey, don’t I know you from that other show?
“I was hired for Robson Arms but it took so long to get on the air that I was already doing Intelligence by the time it aired. Believe me, there was no master plan to have two great jobs in Vancouver. It gets very busy but I’m not complaining, I’d be an asshole if I complained about this situation.”
