DHX Media aquires distribution rights to 22 Minutes, more
From a DHX Media news release:
DHX Media Ltd., a leading independent international producer and distributor of television programming and interactive content, is pleased to announce that it has acquired the license for the worldwide distribution rights to 520 half-hours of television programming. The library consists of 14 different titles, including twelve seasons of the hit television series This Hour Has 22 Minutes, the acclaimed mini-series The Ten Thousand Day War and several children’s television series.
DHX Media chief executive officer Michael Donovan commented: “These rights are highly complementary to our existing library of 1,200 half-hours, particularly in the case of the first twelve seasons of the series This Hour Has 22 Minutes that DHX Media doesn’t already own. We expect to be able to exploit these rights across multiple platforms, gaining additional leverage from our existing distribution capabilities.”
