Acclaimed Canadian director Bruce McDonald, who directed TELETOON’s hit live-action film My Babysitter’s a Vampire, is back at the helm for an upcoming episode of the eponymous TELETOON series, which is developed and produced by Fresh TV. The episode of My Babysitter’s a Vampire, entitled “Friday Night Frights,” premieres on Thursday, February 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. McDonald has directed a total of three episodes from season one of the popular tween series.

• HBO Canada’s Original Stand-Up Comedy Series Returns February 24

Funny, fearless comedy is returning to HBO Canada, a multiplex channel of Astral’s The Movie Network (Eastern Canada) and Corus Entertainment’s Movie Central (Western Canada) this February, with Season 2 of Funny as Hell, a no-holds-barred original stand-up comedy series from The Movie Network and Movie Central, and produced by Just For Laughs Television. The eight-part, half-hour, Gemini-award winning series was taped in front of a live audience at the 2011 Montreal Just For Laughs Festival and features bold, uncensored comedy from some of today’s fastest rising stars. Funny as Hell Season 2 premieres Friday, February 24 at 9 p.m. ET/MT on HBO Canada.

• Nickelodeon buys YTV’s Life with Boys
  Nickelodeon has acquired Canadian teen sitcom Life with Boys in a deal that will broadcast the show in the U.S. and across Europe. The series, which launched in September on YTV, stars Torri Webster as 14-year-old Tess Foster, who is outnumbered at home, as she lives with her overprotective, single father and three brothers.
