Battle of the Blades

The competition is getting heated as the eight BATTLE OF THE BLADES pairs prepare to skate to the theme of passion in the upcoming live performance show on Sunday, October 2 at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT), followed by the first elimination episode of the season on Monday, October 3 at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT). Ex-NHL All-Star, Olympic Gold Medalist and former BATTLE OF THE BLADES competitor, Theo Fleury returns as guest judge alongside Head Judge Sandra Bezic and Resident Judge Jeremy Roenick for the dramatic episodes.

Cover Me Canada

The seven remaining acts on COVER ME CANADA, CBC’s live music competition show, will present their unique new takes on an amazing list of smash-hit classic songs this Sunday, October 2 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) – each and every one originally from Canadian artists.

Cover Me Canada

“Good Love Gone Bad” – 8 music acts compete for a chance to win $100,000 and a single to be released by Universal Music Canada. The nationwide voting results are in and one band wins immunity from elimination and one goes home.

Battle of the Blades

The first live performance show this Sunday, September 25 at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT) on CBC Television, followed by the second live performance episode on Monday, September 26 at 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT). Joining the judging panel for the first anticipated performance episode of the season is fan-favourite ex-NHL player, Darcy Tucker.

  • Emmy Awards, Survivor, Mercer and 22 Minutes back big as season officially starts
    The jockeying for position was evident this week with shows like Big Brother and America’s Got Talent bowing out and Survivor, Battle of the Blades, The Mercer Report and Heartland bowing in. As always, a few new shows can get lost in the shuffle. The decision to throw a smart comedy like Michael: Tuesday & Thursdays against the full heat of the week’s biggest premiere and finale seems odd to say the least. Read more.

    That blunted CBC’s Battle of the Blades (1,195,000) but didn’t knock the third season premiere (or competitors Tessa Bonhomme and David Pelletier, right) off the ice. More rocked was CBC’s new talent reality series Cover Me Canada, which managed 591,000 viewers opposite the Emmys. Read more.
