A CTV Original Mini-Series Would Be Kings Premieres Jan. 27 and 28

CTV announced the broadcast premiere of the epic, four-hour Original Mini-Series Would Be Kings, airing Sunday, January 27 from 9-11 p.m. ET and Monday, January 28 from 9-11 p.m. ET, exclusively on CTV (visit CTV.ca to confirm local listings). A modern and timely take on a classic tragedy, Would Be Kings is the riveting tale of Patrick Lehane (Currie Graham; Desperate Housewives, CSI) and Jamie Collins (Ben Bass; The Eleventh Hour, Last Exit), two cousins and drug-squad cops who find their family ties torn apart by corruption within the police force. The gripping, family saga also stars Natasha Henstridge (Eli Stone, The Whole Nine Yards) and Clare Stone (Breach, The Man Who Lost Himself).

The Red Green Show 1999 on DVD

Acorn Media announces the February 26, 2008 DVD release of The Red Green Show: 1999 Season, the crowd-pleasing Canadian comedy and PBS hit still running in syndication.

Armed with power tools, off-kilter advice, and preposterous inventions, Red Green and his pals from Possum Lodge amassed a giant fan base during the show’s 15-year run, which ended in April 2006 with exactly 300 episodes. Creator and star Steve Smith features north-of-the-border handyman humor in the vein of Home Improvement, which also debuted on television in 1991.

Citytv will premiere “Murdoch Mysteries”, a new one-hour weekly dramatic series based on Maureen Jennings’ critically-acclaimed mystery novels, Thursday, January 24th, 2008 (Citytv Winnipeg January 20th, 2008), on Citytv stations across Canada. The series stars Yannick Bisson (Sue Thomas, F. B. Eye) as Detective William Murdoch.
