THE ADVENTURES OF BOB & DOUG MCKENZIE: STRANGE BREW tells the classic story of two beer-addled brothers (Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis) who thwart a sinister plot to rule the world via mind-controlling lager.

BOB & DOUG MCKENZIE’S TWO-FOUR ANNIVERSARY is a one-hour celebration of the McKenzie brothers-a 24-year enduring Canadian franchise credited with defining a national identity. This special reveals the fascinating stories of people whose lives were touched, affected or influenced by the McKenzie brothers; celebrates key milestones throughout the franchise’s history; and finally reveals the men behind it all-Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas.

THE SECOND CITY’S NEXT COMEDY LEGEND – begins Tuesday, July 10 at 9 p.m.
First-class sketch comedy, Canada’s hottest new comics, intense competition and ruthless ambition all come together in THE SECOND CITY’S NEXT COMEDY LEGEND-hosted by Trish Stratus, the most decorated Diva in WWE history. Sketch comedy performers from all over Canada compete and are judged by SCTV alumnus Joe Flaherty and comedians Elvira Kurt and Nick Napier. Comics vie for the chance to join the ranks of such legendary Canadian performers as John Candy, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Mike Myers, Dan Aykroyd, Dave Thomas and Eugene Levy, all of whom got their start at The Second City.

    “The result of this new strategy has been as embarrassing and awkward as an old person in a Fubu sweatsuit. Reality shows such as Dragon’s Den and the recently unveiled Fashion File Host Hunt are pale imitations of programs airing on other networks, like The Apprentice or MuchMusic VJ Search. Speaking of MuchMusic, former VJ George Stroumboulopoulos delivers news with a punk aesthetic on The Hour, which consciously incorporates nose rings, stuff from YouTube and contests sponsored by Doritos. Another example of product integration, Kraft Hockeyville, united Canada’s hockey-crazy communities and the purveyor of ‘KD,’ a prized Canadian foodstuff.”

Instant Star Returns with All-New Episodes May 27 on CTV

Melody and melodrama collide in Part Two of Instant Star’s second season, premiering Sunday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET on CTV and on CTV HD East/West (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times). Leaving sweet 16 behind her, singing sensation Jude Harrison (Alexz Johnson) faces a new set of challenges in six all-new episodes. Instant Star will air Sundays at 7:30 p.m. ET following encore episodes of the hit series Degrassi: The Next Generation. Following the completion of Season Two, the third season of Instant Star will premiere in July on CTV.

Each week, the new episode of Instant Star will be made available following its television broadcast, on demand on The CTV Broadband Network at CTV.ca, beginning Mondays at 9 a.m. ET. There, viewers can also catch up on all seven of this season’s previously aired episodes.
