The next Canadian Idol winner will be male, it was revealed tonight on CTV when the final female competitor, Carly Rae Jepsen, was eliminated from the competition. The 21-year-old student and waitress from Mission, BC received the fewest of more than four million votes cast – the most so far this season – following Monday’s “Judges’ & People’s Choice” performance episode. Now, Hamilton, ON’s Brian Melo, 25, and Drumheller, AB’s Jaydee Bixby, 17, set their sights on the final prize as they prepare for the their last competitive performance next Monday, Sept. 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.
