Hit preschool shows This is Daniel Cook and This is Emily Yeung
now distributed to Disney Channel Japan.

This is Daniel Cook and This is Emily Yeung are expanding into Asia and adding to the list of over 75 countries where preschoolers can catch the hit show thanks to a new distribution deal with Disney Channel Japan. Beginning this fall, children all over Japan will watch a dubbed version of Daniel and Emily in the 78 episodes picked up by the Disney Channel.

This licensing agreement is the seventh international deal for This is. Currently, Daniel and Emily can be seen daily on Playhouse Disney U.S., Discovery Latin America, and Rainbow Television in Beirut. This is Daniel Cook also airs on Playhouse Disney Germany, C4U Media Co Ltd in South Korea and Australia’s public broadcaster ABC. In Canada, This Is Daniel Cook plays on Treehouse, TVO Kids, Knowledge Network, Access Alberta and SCN. This is Emily Yeung airs exclusively in Canada on the Corus Entertainment preschool channel, Treehouse.

This is Daniel Cook and This is Emily Yeung are educational, live-action, preschool series that captivates children by bringing them along on exciting adventures to learn everything from digging up dinosaur bones to swimming with dolphins. Both shows are a co-production of Canadian producers marblemedia and Sinking Ship Entertainment. Both series are sold and distributed by marblemedia Distribution, a division of marblemedia. Next generation content creation company marblemedia is to be the recipient of the Lions Gate/Maple Pictures Innovative Producer Award at the 28th edition of the Banff World Television Festival, which takes place June 10-13, 2007, in the Banff Fairmont Springs, in Alberta, Canada. The award recognizes the entrepreneurial excellence and achievements of an independent producer within the Canadian television industry.

Known for their internationally successful cross-platform properties including “This is Daniel Cook,” “deafplanet.com,” and “Burnt Toast,” marblemedia was selected by a jury of three: a representative from Lions Gate/Maple Pictures; a representative from the Banff World Television Foundation, and a representative from the broadcasting/production community. The award will be presented to marblemedia’s co-founders and Partners Mark Bishop and Matt Hornburg, during the annual Awards Luncheon at the Banff World Television Festival on Monday, June 11. Daniel Cook and Emily Yeung at Home in Mexico, Morocco & Martinique

The two successful Canadian children’s television series This is Daniel Cook and This is Emily Yeung will now air in over 75 countries as a result of two new international distribution deals finalized this week by marblemedia Distribution and Picture Box Distribution.

Discovery Latin America and Rainbow Television Corporation (based in Beirut, Lebanon), have picked up 65 episodes of each show and will dub and/or subtitle them into the various languages of those territories. South Korean broadcaster, C4U Media Co Ltd, also picked up 65 episodes of This is Daniel Cook for their networks.

These licensing agreements are in addition to the three previous international deals for This is. Currently, Daniel and Emily can be seen daily on Playhouse Disney U.S., and Daniel Cook also airs on Playhouse Disney Germany and Australia’s public broadcaster ABC. In Canada, This Is Daniel Cook plays on Treehouse, TVO Kids, Knowledge Network, Access Alberta and SCN.
