  • MasterWorks Program to be Continued by the Academy; Honours to be Presented at Upcoming Awards Shows

The Academy is pleased to introduce the MasterWorks program at the 25th Annual Gemini Awards, a special tribute founded by the Audio-Visual Preservation Trust (AV Trust) in 2000 to honour culturally significant works. This year’s Television honourees – Polka Dot Door and The New Music – will be recognized at the upcoming Industry Galas taking place Tuesday, November 2nd and Wednesday, November 3rd.

In the spring of 2010, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announced that it would continue the AV Trust’s film and television-related activities. MasterWorks tributes for French-language television and Canadian film will be incorporated into the 2011 Prix Gémeaux and the 2011 Genie Awards respectively.
