- Gemini worthy: Shocking ‘Flashpoint’ may win lead another TV award
Enrico Colantoni won a 2009 Gemini Award for his portrayal of Sgt. Greg Parker on Flashpoint. He may very well get another one based on his performance in Tuesday’s “Day Game.†Greg has always been the concrete solid leader of Team One for Toronto’s Strategic Response Unit, so to see him break down was both heart-wrenching and shocking. This man, whom everyone on the squad looks to for advice, support and stoicism in the face of danger and tragedy found himself crumbling in the final angst-ridden minutes of another tautly-written episode. (As an aside, how fantastic is the writing crew over at Flashpoint? They pack more tension and emotion into the scenes before the credits roll than others do in an entire 44 minutes.
