Young and Female: SAVING HOPE Returns With 1.1 Million Viewers on CTV

CTV’s SAVING HOPE returned last night with a bang, literally. A public shooting thrust the doctors into Hope Zion Hospital and back into the hearts of fans, as SAVING HOPE delivered 1.1 million viewers for its second season premiere on CTV. The most-watched program of the night nationally with younger (A18-34) and female (F18-34) viewers, SAVING HOPE also performed well in the markets. The premiere delivered strong ratings of 4.6 to 4.8 in Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary for F18-34, and won the night for A18-34 in Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton. SAVING HOPE also saw half-hour growth nationally among all key adult and female demos.

Viewers can watch last night’s episode and catch up on Season 1 across CTV’s digital platforms, including CTV.ca, the CTV App, the CTV Mobile channel on Bell Mobile TV, and through video on demand partners such as Bell Fibe TV.

In next week’s episode entitled “Little Piggies” (Tuesday, July 2 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV), Alex (Erica Durance) must learn to stick up for herself and not be intimidated by Dawn – Charlie’s ex-wife (Michelle Nolden) in order to work alongside her and perform a minimally invasive heart procedure to save a patient’s life. Meanwhile, Joel (Daniel Gillies) unlocks a mystery to a young girl’s disease whilst getting some advice from Charlie (Michael Shanks), who is trying to figure out how to help his comatose patient come back from being a spirit. It’s a week of defying the odds at Hope Zion Hospital. Directed by Kelly Makin (FLASHPOINT, ROOKIE BLUE, LESS THAN KIND), this episode also features guest stars Daniel Kash (AGAINST THE WALL), Joel Keller (MEN WITH BROOMS), Rick Miller (CANADIAN MADE), Siobhan Murphy (ROOKIE BLUE), Stefani Kimber (ROOKIE BLUE) and Tammy Isbell (OVERRULED!).

As an added bonus, fans can see what happens after rounds over rounds in SAVING HOPE’s digital companion series LAST CALL, where the doctors ditch their scrubs and unwind over drinks. Additional content is also available on CTV.ca, including Insider Blogs, cast-curated song playlists, #AskErica with Erica Durance, and more.

  1. I suppose that isn’t bad and pointing out what demographics it did well in is one way to pad a press release. It is hard to spin being down about 28% in the total audience. Part of that could likely be attributed to the lack of American promotion for this season, not that NBC did much for the show anyway. Interesting that it didn’t win the night in Toronto but did in Alberta and BC.
