marblemedia and BLUEPRINT ENTERTAINMENT are proud to announce the start of production on their flash-animated series, THE DATING GUY. This half-hour 13 episode series is scheduled to air March 2009 on TELETOON, as part of the popular teen/adult programming block, The Detour on TELETOON, available in both English and French.

THE DATING GUY is a smart, edgy and urban-minded animated sitcom that tackles relationships from the twenty-something perspective. Created by marblemedia partners Mark Bishop and Matt Hornburg and developed with TELETOON, it boldly exposes the romantic, working and every day struggles of four friend’s attempts at finding love…or lust. With an entourage of quirky supporting characters, the show offers an eclectic and comical view to the world of dating.

In the news: Canadian Television Fund newsletter

The Canadian Television Fund (CTF) premiered a new online newsletter today to celebrate success stories in Canadian TV. Interested readers can sign up to receive the monthly e-newsletter, interacTVity, on the CTF website.

“This is a time of renaissance and revolution in Canadian screen-based content,” said Valerie Creighton, President of the CTF. “Through interacTVity, we’ll be able to share behind-the-scenes stories about our biggest successes, in terms of both projects and people. interacTVity will celebrate the national and international achievements of Canadian television programs and the people behind them.”

In the first issue, interacTVity speaks with White Pine Pictures’ Peter Raymont about Emmys and Oscars, his hit drama The Border, and why documentaries rock on HD.
