Triple Sensation National Open Call Auditions Announced

Triple Sensation’s Executive Producer and Show Creator Garth Drabinsky today announced national open call auditions for the ground-breaking performing arts television series.

The popular CBC series, hailed as “the talent equivalent of a perfect storm… remarkable,” by Liz Nicholls in the Edmonton Journal, showcases a national search for young Canadians aged 16-26 who share a passion for the performing arts and whose combined talent in the acting, singing and dance disciplines is formidable.

Pre-registration for Open Call auditions begins today online at www.triplesensation.ca.

Call Back and Marquee Panel auditions for the final selections will be held in Western Canada in Vancouver from March 18th to March 25th and in Eastern Canada from April 9th to April 13th in Toronto.

Twelve performers will be chosen by the dynamic Marquee Panel: Adrian
Noble, multiple Tony, Olivier and Drama Desk Award-nominated director and
former Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company; Cynthia Dale,
acclaimed Dora Mavor Moore Award-winner actor and Stratford Festival star actor; Sergio Trujillo, choreographer extraordinaire, whose body of work runs the gamut from Tony Award-winning Broadway to such beloved television programs as Will and Grace; Marvin Hamlisch, legendary Oscar, Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award-winning composer and musical director; and Garth Drabinsky, multiple Tony Award-winning theatre impresario.

Triple Sensation follows the performers as they are led through a sequence of demanding auditions, a phenomenal Master Class led by industry luminaries and subsequent workshop presentations, to the Finale. From the cross-country Open Call to the Marquee Panel sessions, where the competitors must prove their talents to a stellar group of internationally-acclaimed award-winning theatre legends, every moment is captured in high definition, pristinely displaying the nuances that will ultimately make the difference for one gifted performer. That winner will receive a $150,000 performing arts scholarship to attend any theatrical training institution of his/her choice in the world.

Triple Sensation received unanimous critical acclaim in its first season, and was embraced by arts educators, cultural institutions, ACTRA and the American Federation of Musicians among others.
