“Bless the CBC, but never mind Shakespeare – I’ve seen the highlight reel for Wild Roses and what it promises, more succinctly, is a passel of strong female characters, including one skinny, blond vixen, and a whole lot of drinkin’, fightin’ and canoodlin’, Western-style. The best line in the highlight reel comes from a female character summing up ‘the new West’ as ‘the pollution, the greed, the sports-car-driving oil assholes.'” Read more.
