World of Wonders premieres Sept. 7

From a media release:

Genuine Pictures Inc. is pleased to announce the third season launch of their popular children’s series, A WORLD OF WONDERS. It premieres on TVOKids on September 7, 2009 at 6:30pm. A WORLD OF WONDERS is a live action series that allows young viewers to become armchair travelers as they criss-cross the globe, delighting in its wonders, cultures, colours, sounds and flavours. WOW also debuts on Saskatchewan’s SCN on September 28th, 2009 at noon.

Under the tutelage of a Webmaster (newcomer Sami Botros), host Cari Leslie receives clues that guide her on this ultimate learning odyssey. This season, Cari soars above the Jordanian desert on an ultra light, hangs out with reptiles in the Galapagos Islands, zip lines through the rainforest in Costa Rica, catches baby puffins in Iceland, assists a mahout at an elephant orphanage in Laos, and explores Cambodia’s magnificent Angkor Wat. She even carries out equatorial experiments in the middle of the world. And in Mexico, Cari visits a butterfly sanctuary to witness the largest insect migration in the
world. From Turkey to Vietnam, Jordan to Japan, Cambodia to Ecuador, our intrepid host travels from continent to continent in search of the WOW factor.

A WORLD OF WONDERS has been nominated for a 2009 Gemini Award for Best  Original Music for a Lifestyle/Practical Information or Reality Program or Series. It was also nominated earlier this year for an Alliance for Children and Television Award of Excellence. The series has been sold to broadcasters in Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Libya, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE and Yemen.
