CTV Orders Season 3 of Top 20 Hit SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA
- Season 3 Audition tour begins Nov. 13 in Toronto, Hits Vancouver Dec. 5
- Third season green lit as Canada’s Favourite Dancer for Season 2 to be revealed on Sunday, October 25 on CTV
As announced during tonight’s Top 6 Performance episode, CTV has ordered a third heart-racing season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA. Dancers from across the country who have been watching from their living rooms now have their chance to bust a move live, and in person, for the judges. CTV and Danse TV Productions announced that the third season audition tour will stop in Toronto on Friday, November 13 and in Vancouver, BC on Saturday, December 5. The tour will also spin into Calgary, Montreal and a soon to be announced East Coast city. Additional audition dates, details and locations will be announced soon. Information will be posted at dance.ctv.ca as it becomes available. SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA is based on 19 Entertainment and dick clark productions’ popular international format SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, from a uniquely Canadian perspective.
This announcement comes as season two heads to its finale week, averaging 1.44 million viewers*, ranking as a Top 20 show with key demo A18-34** and consistently wins its timeslot nationally with the key female demos (F18-34, F18-49 and F25-54).

The series renewal comes just 12 days before Canada’s Favourite dancer for Season 2 is named during the two hour finale on Sunday, October 25 at 9 p.m. ET on CTV. In addition, numerous dancers from Season 1 are carving out notable careers in the entertainment industry. Nico Archambault, the winner of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Season 1, will appear as the legendary ballet dancer Rudolph Nureyev in the upcoming Bravo! biopic Nureyev, and has also been on a national tour with his group Pinup Saints. He is also set to star as a modern-day Johnny Castle in the new Family Channel film Vacation With Derek, and returned to the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA stage as a choreographer for the Top 8 performance show.
In addition, a number of Season 1 dancers are also involved in the upcoming MTV/CTV television movie TURN THE BEAT AROUND, which is choreographed by SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA judge Tré Armstrong. The movie stars Romina D’Ugo and also features Season 1 Top 4 finalists Miles Faber and Natalli Reznik, alongside Top 20 competitors Caroline Torti, Bre Wong and Tamina Pollack-Paris.
