The explosive mid-season premiere of STARGATE UNIVERSE (SGU) Season 1.5 rocketed onto SPACE last Friday, pulling in an audience of 422,000 total viewers on April 2. SGU was the #1 non-sports specialty program in the country from 10 -11p.m. More than 700,000 viewers tuned into some or all of the premiere, proving that SPACE is the destination for the most anticipated sci-fi programming. The premiere is available now on demand at www.spacecast.com.
Hot on the heels of the jaw-dropping SGU Season 1.5 premiere, SPACE’s flagship genre entertainment news show, InnerSPACE, took off to record breaking numbers with an SGU-themed show. A total of 132,000 viewers tuned in to see InnerSPACE personalities Teddy Wilson and Ajay Fry weigh-in on SGU, while the original production garnered 81,000 A25-54, the highest A24-54 audience in the history of the program.
SGU follows a band of soldiers, scientists and civilians, who must fend for themselves when their hidden base comes under attack. The desperate survivors emerge aboard the ancient ship Destiny, set on an unknown course and unable to return to Earth.
SGU’s journey continues this Friday, April 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. In the episode, Dr. Nicholas Rush and Chloe suffer nightmares following their ordeal on the alien vessel, and Rush suspects that a tracking device may have been placed on the ship’s hull. Later, a splinter group on Destiny executes a coup with life-threatening consequences.
