SPACE provides refuge for extraordinary beings when Season 3 of the award-winning series SANCTUARY, premieres Friday, Oct. 15 at 9 p.m. ET. Recently nominated for three Gemini Awards, this hour-long, SPACE original cult-hit takes fans on an exotic journey across the globe on a quest to rescue abnormal beings. Shot extensively in front of a green screen, SANCTUARY was the first series to exclusively use the industry-changing RED® camera to enhance its awe-inspiring images and locales. SANCTUARY is also available on demand at www.spacecast.com immediately following its television premiere.

SANCTUARY follows the adventures of the enigmatic scientist Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) who with her team, shelter a clandestine population of strange and sometimes terrifying beings, most believe don’t even exist. Along with forensic psychiatrist Dr. Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne), Kate Freelander (Agam Darshi), a witty, sarcastic, but savvy former swindler, and über-geek weapons designer and computer expert Henry Foss (Ryan Robbins), Magnus seeks to protect these imperiled phenomena while unlocking their mysteries.

Full of twists and turns, Season 3 of SANCTUARY raises the bar on the excitement with gripping storylines and new characters. The Season 3 opener finds the Sanctuary team desperately trying to find a way to reach the powerful, god-like abnormal Kali to prevent catastrophic tidal waves from killing millions worldwide. Magnus defends her position as the head of the Sanctuary Network while Will, still in Mumbai, fights for his life.

SANCTUARY was recently nominated for three Gemini Awards for “Best Cross-Platform Project – Fiction”, “Best Performance by an Actor in a Guest Role, Dramatic Series – Christopher Heyerdahl” and “Best Sound in a Dramatic Series”. During the past two seasons, SANCTUARY has been nominated for more than 50 awards including a primetime Emmy® for “Outstanding Special Visual Effects in 2008.” It won a Gemini Award for “Best Visual Effects” in 2009 and is also the winner of 11 Leo Awards.
