If it’s happening in music in Canada, it’s happening on MuchMusic. Much plugs viewers in to new music across multiple genres as it unveils a slew of fresh and cutting edge music programming in January. The legendary series known for showcasing trendsetting indie music, THE WEDGE, returns Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT in an all-new primetime format hosted by the always-engaging, constantly-outspoken, musical almanac Damian Abraham, frontman of Polaris Prize-winning band F**ked Up. The iconic RAPCITY returns Thursday, Jan. 20 at 10 p.m. ET/PT in a revamped format, bringing viewers into the community of hip-hop and R&B music. Fans get a dose of the music, fashion and videos that everyone is talking about on #TRENDING, Much’s new viewer-driven series that delves into of-the-moment trends, premiering Friday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. ET/PT.
MuchMusic’s new original programming is anchored by flagship show NEW.MUSIC.LIVE. which brings viewers the newest in music, bands and videos, as well as interviews with and performances by the Canadian and international artists everyone needs to know and hear about. Broadcast live in front of a studio audience Monday – Friday at 5 p.m. ET/PT from Much’s newly renovated HD studio on Canada’s most famous music corner, Queen Street West and John Street in downtown Toronto, NEW.MUSIC.LIVE. deals in new music all week long. The week wraps up with two-hours of non-stop music videos, on a newly extended version of THE MUCHMUSIC COUNTDOWN, Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.

The show represents the life of a genre under constant evolution and redefinition.
