d10 gallery 2060(1)After three decades of groundbreaking and controversial storylines, MuchMusic’s #1 hit show DEGRASSI returns for an impressive 11th season this summer. Fans get their daily DEGRASSI fix as the show premieres for the second year in the highly successful Monday to Friday telenovela format, this year extending that run to seven weeks. With the enrolment of three new students and storylines that push the envelope even further with social topics facing teens today, DEGRASSI is guaranteed to set the bar higher than ever. Production for Season 11 has already begun in Toronto.

Joining DEGRASSI this season is the charming heartthrob Jake Martin (Justin Kelly), who tells it like it is and tries not to break too many hearts in the process. New student Katie Matlin (Chloe Rose) is a fresh-faced athlete who plays hard on the field but is soft when it comes to matters of the heart. Fun and energetic Imogen Moreno (Cristine Prosperi) is anything but boring, but she constantly fears her one, big secret could be exposed to the entire school.

“After the success of last summer’s format shift we are thrilled to be delivering a bonus week of episodes to DEGRASSI fans this summer,” says Stephen Stohn, Executive Producer and President, Epitome Pictures. “Fans will get a full seven weeks of new daily DEGRASSI storylines and drama, starting with a crime of passion that reverberates throughout the summer and leads to an explosive conclusion.”

DEGRASSI was MuchMusic’s #1 program in 2009/2010. It currently reaches more than 850,000 viewers every week on MuchMusic.

The brand new season also premieres in the U.S. this summer on TeenNick.
