Canada’s Got Talent coming to Citytv

NEW CANADIAN SERIES CANADA’S GOT TALENT

  • Citytv and Insight Productions to produce and broadcast Canadian version of hit international Got Talent franchise celebrating the unique talents of the nation

Citytv today announced plans for Canada’s Got Talent, the Canadian version of the hit Got Talent franchise, from Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia. Co-produced by Rogers and Insight Productions, Canada’s Got Talent will be broadcast across Canada in Spring 2012 on Citytv. The format is licensed by FremantleMedia globally.

Canada now joins more than 40 countries including America, Germany, and the UK as markets with original Got Talent productions.

Rogers Media will leverage all of its platforms (television, radio, publishing, digital, and wireless), resources and talent, to produce, promote and broadcast the new Canadian series to reach Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

With no age limit and no act too obscure, Canada’s Got Talent will embark on a nationwide search for Canada’s favourite performer, celebrating the diverse and eclectic homegrown talent from across the country. Much more than a singing or dancing competition, Canada’s Got Talent will showcase the top acts from magicians to jugglers, contortionists to fire eaters, singers and dancers – anything goes. Top acts will compete to impress an expert panel of judges to move on to the next round. The Canadian version will follow the format of the British series that launched in 2007 and discovered stars like Susan Boyle and Paul Potts.

Further announcements for Canada’s Got Talent, including host, judging panel and the nationwide audition process, will be revealed shortly.

Canada’s Got Talent is executive produced by John Brunton and Barbara Bowlby for Insight Production Company Ltd.

  14. im only 12 years old my im from ontario canada bowmanville me and my freinds want to come on this show and addition it will be a life changeng exsperiance we will sing our favorite songs and dance at the same time and with this money we will say half will go to us and the other half will go to the animal shelter and sickn kids hospital i think we could be on this show

  21. How does the process work? Does everyone get to audition or is it a lottery style audition with only those getting to audition whose numbers are called? Is there a limit as to how many can audition per city?

  35. I’m 10 years old and ive been dancing recreationaly since i was 6 and ive been dancing competitively since I was 7 or 8 and I think I should do it but i’m sort of nevious because ive only infront of 560 people not whole entire world! Should I do it or not?

The thing is ive never acually infront of alot of people well the only people ive sang infront of were 2 of my friends and my mom hears me but when i sang infront of my friends one of them said I inspired her to start to practice singing more and my other friend said to do canada’s got talent because apparently i’m amazing but I dont believe :( Should I do it or not?

Well all you girls and boys sound AMAZING but if you do sighn up you have to wait till you get a news letter that saysz canadas’s got talent on it im still waiting for mine soo hope too see you alll there AND im 12 years old turning 13 and always wanted to sing on tv and i BET im am going to see all of you amazing singers and dancers!!!!

    There will not be any age restrictions, correct?

    Will there be Canada’s Got Talent auditions in each Canadian capital city?

    Will there be a specific direct link to a webcam audition site on the Canada’s Got Talent website?

    Will there be an open selection of song choice, for the webcam audition;so each person auditioning can sing a song of personal choice, which each is comfortable with, for the audition?

    Will there be a specific direct link site for all scheduled auditions (municipal location(s)), date(s), time(s) and name of building(s) the auditions are to be held in?

    Will there be a specific direct link to a
    “Contact Us” site, which will provide all contact information concerning civic address, toll free number(s) and email address(es) for general comments, voting, remark(s) for judge(s), show suggestions and/or feedback?

    Will there be an individual direct link to email listing and contact information for each judge, where fans can email a specific judge and find out the credential(s) of each judge?
    Credentials such as years in business, what music fields, performing arts, talent agency(ies), recording studio(s) and/or booking agency(ies) each is involved with.
