- The Borgias’ takes top dramatic prize at Geminis
The top program on Canadian television is the international co-production The Borgias. The historical series, loosely based on the Renaissance-era dynasty, took the lofty honour of best dramatic series at the Gemini Awards gala held at the CBC Broadcast Centre in Toronto on Wednesday night. A CTV co-production backed by Irish and Hungarian television producers, the series starring Jeremy Irons as Pope Alexander VI bested The Tudors, Skins, Flashpoint and Endgame to win the award.
