CBC Television kicks-off 2012 to a hilarious start with four all-new comedy specials. Beginning on January 1, 2012, the hilarious New Year’s comedy line-up includes: 22 MINUTES: HOLIDAY SPECIAL, AIR FARCE NOT THE NEW YEAR’S EVE SPECIAL, THE RON JAMES SHOW: NEW YEAR’S EDITION, and CRAIG FERGUSON’S INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF COMEDY.
22 MINUTES: HOLIDAY SPECIAL starts the New Year off with a bang at 7 p.m. (7:30 NT) on Sunday, January 1, 2012. The side-splitting special brings viewers letters to Santa from Peter Mansbridge, Jim Cuddy, and Survivorman’s Les Stroud (to name a few), new takes on traditional holiday stories like A Christmas Carol (with Kevin O’Leary as Scrooge) and Miracle on 34th Street, and guests including Gordon Pinsent, Allan Hawco, and Great Big Sea!
AIR FARCE NOT THE NEW YEAR’S EVE SPECIAL will air on New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT). Air Farce stars Don Ferguson, Penelope Corrin, Luba Goy, Craig Lauzon, and Alan Park welcome “Combat Hospital†co-star Arnold Pinnock into the regular cast. They’re joined by a stellar guest line-up – Adam Beach, star of the upcoming CBC Television series Arctic Air, Battle of the Blades champion Tessa Bonhomme, Dragon and host of the upcoming CBC Television series Redemption Inc., Kevin O’Leary, and his Lang and O’Leary Exchange co-star, Amanda Lang, just to name a few.
Next up is THE RON JAMES SHOW: NEW YEAR’S EDITION, airing at 9 p.m.

In his sixth annual New Year’s special, Ron puts 2011 to bed as only he can, then looks ahead to 2012, sincerely hoping the Mayans were just having a bad day at the temple when they made their famous doomsday prediction. Joining James to celebrate are special guests Sonja Smits, Eric Peterson, Michael Therriault, Raoul Bhaneja, Kathy Greenwood, Matt Baram and Lauren Ash.
On January 2, 2012, JUST FOR LAUGHS brings viewers some of the top international comedians the world has to offer with CRAIG FERGUSON’S INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF COMEDY. Airing on Monday, January 2 at 9:00 p.m. (9:30 NT), viewers will have the chance to discover hilarious talent from across the pond (and beyond) all hosted and encouraged by the insanely wild and charming host of CBS’s The Late Late Show, Craig Ferguson.
