Canadian comedian Gerry Dee has turned his former life as a teacher into a sitcom about a teacher, and the odd thing is, it was his plan all along. “It always was my approach when I started in standup, from day one, to take my life as a teacher and make it into a sitcom,†said Dee, whose new show – aptly titled Mr. D – debuts Monday, Jan. 9 on CBC.
