WHAT’S UP, WARTHOGS! RETURNS FOR SOPHOMORE SEASON ON DISNEY XD
- Season Two of What’s Up, Warthogs! Premieres Sunday, April 1 at 5 p.m. ET, Part of an April Fool’s Day Prank-A-Thon
West Hill High’s morning announcements return to the airwaves on Sunday, April 1 at 5 p.m. ET with the second season premiere of the Canadian original production What’s Up, Warthogs! on Astral’s Disney XD.
What’s Up, Warthogs! follows arch-rivals Eric Ortiz (Tiago Abreu) and Victoria Jagger (Karissa Lee Staples) as they begrudgingly team up to save the on-air announcements at West Hill High from returning to the “boringpalooza†show of the past. The second season picks up with the after-math of the student body presidential election as the “What’s Up, Warthogs!†team is working on a new broadcast strategy since learning the results of the vote.
In the premiere episode, “Prank You for Joking,†Victoria gets a job working at Eric’s favourite prank store and with the help of her friends, brings down a gorilla-suit wearing thief. Meanwhile, Laney is the victim of several pranks by the gang until she turns the tables on them. Following the premiere episode, What’s Up, Warthogs! moves to its regular timeslot on Saturdays at 12:30 p.m. ET beginning April 7.
Viewers who can’t get enough of Eric and Victoria’s competitive spirit can visit DisneyXD.ca to play the “Eric vs. Victoria†game. The duo invites users to compete in four challenges, playing on behalf of ‘Team Eric’ or ‘Team Victoria.’ The points that each user collects are added to their team’s tally and for each game, one team leader is announced the winner, while the opposing team leader completes an embarrassing task. The game is currently available on the website, with new levels being unveiled in the coming weeks.
Leading into the premiere of What’s Up, Warthogs! is an April Fool’s Day Prank-A-Thon. Beginning at 12 p.m. ET, viewers can catch their favourite practical jokers wreaking havoc during an 11-episode marathon featuring Kickin’ It, Pair of Kings, Zeke and Luther, I’m In The Band, plus two brand new episodes of PrankStars with Adam Hicks and Leo Howard. All the episodes from the Prank-A-Thon will be available on Disney XD OnDemand as of April 3.
What’s Up, Warthogs! is produced by Anthony Leo of Aircraft Pictures (Todd and the Book of Pure Evil) and executive produced by Andrew Rosen of Aircraft Pictures and Bill O’Dowd of Dolphin Entertainment (Zoey 101, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide). Created by Alex Diaz and Julie Sagalowsky-Diaz, the writing team is led by showrunner Dean Batali (That 70’s Show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
