WHEN DISASTER STRIKES, HOLMES MAKES IT RIGHT

  • Holmes Makes It Right Premieres Tuesday October 16 at 9pm ET/PT

When bad things happen to good people, Mike Holmes is known for his dedication to step in and make it right. In the brand-new HGTV Canada series Holmes Makes It Right, Mike takes on massive projects and tackles unexpected obstacles as he rescues families and communities from problems they never saw coming. Holmes Makes It Right premieres on Tuesday, October 16th at 9pm ET/PT on HGTV Canada.

This series follows Mike as he challenges himself more than ever. Whether it’s completely demolishing and re-building an $80,000 contracting job gone wrong, redesigning and building Toronto’s High Park Playground after it was destroyed by arson, or building an accessible outdoor deck and dining area for a teacher paralyzed in a horrible hit and run, there’s no project too disastrous for Mike Holmes to make right. Together with the familiar faces of his crew including Damon, Mike Holmes Jr. and Sherry, Mike is putting himself in circumstances that don’t just need a contractor, they need a miracle.

“We’re thrilled to have Mike Holmes back with a new series, confronting and solving major renovation and construction problems for people in despair – making it right the way only Mike can.” said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President of Content, Shaw Media.

“To make it right and help these families I go beyond the surface and behind the walls,” says Mike Holmes. “For each job in Holmes Makes It Right I’m shocked at what we find. But like every job I take on, we do what it takes to get the job done right.”

With his signature commitment to perfection and his quest to make homeowners more knowledgeable about their rights and responsibilities, Mike Holmes is saving people, neighbourhoods and houses with every nail he hammers in Holmes Makes It Right.

  1. Have an frustrating problem in a condo. Mold growing in the duct work of our water cooled heat pump. After doing some investigating it seems that the units are oversized for the space, along with other design flaws. Short cycling of the unit was one of the reasons that we began investigating what was wrong with the install. After six months of frustrating e-mails with our property manager and a few with our condo board we are still looking for answers. We know that the city building department does not have any interest as air conditioning is not in the building code. After requesting the heat loss calculations for the space no one had them . Had them done and yes the units are oversized for the space. This would apply to 60% of the 125 units in this building. Property manager maintains the unit with a yearly cleaning, so they say . Have been sent a 1700.00 bill to clean out the mold. Have been informed that the unit is owned by the unit owner and it’s your problem. Property manager has no maintenance records to provide to unit owners. Maybe that was because they were not cleaning the units properly and never discovered the problem? Any interest in this ? With condo construction on the rise and the complete lack of support for the owners of condo in the rules it might be time to shed some light on this. Our reputable Builder does not want to hear about it. The Architect would not respond and the Mechanical Engineer said he is in litigation and will not discuss anything. Hired an Engineer as building was not providing any answers and he confirmed the issues. Of the 14 unit owners that attended a meeting we had about the problem 5 had mold in their duct work. Looking for the miracle. Thanks Don
