  • Production Begins September in Toronto

Shaw Media announced today that award-winning actor Enrico Colantoni (Galaxy Quest, Just Shoot Me!, Flashpoint) will be starring in Global Television’s highly anticipated original drama series Remedy. Colantoni will portray Dr. Allan Conner, a passionate, committed and slightly eccentric father and doctor who is Acting Chief of Staff of Broadview Hospital. Commissioned by Shaw Media’s original content team and produced by Indian Grove Productions, the series begins production in Toronto on September 30.

“Remedy is a complex and funny world with rich characters and relationships,” said Enrico Colantoni. “Plus with Greg Spottiswood and Bernie Zukerman leading the charge and being reunited with Kelly Makin and Adam Barken…I’m a happy guy.”

Most beloved on the big screen as the alien Commander Mathesar in the sci-fi hit Galaxy Quest, Colantoni is currently recurring on the hit series Person of Interest as the villainous “Elias” and recently guest-starred on an episode of Warehouse 13. He was recently seen in the acclaimed mini-series The Kennedys and the Steven Soderbergh thriller Contagion. In 2012, Colantoni wrapped the acclaimed primetime drama Flashpoint where he portrayed Sgt. Gregory Parker, a role that garnered him multiple accolades. One of the most versatile actors in television and film today, fans remember him as the womanizing fashion photographer Elliott DiMauro on long-running hit, Just Shoot Me! and America’s favorite dad/PI Keith Mars on the cult classic, Veronica Mars. He recently completed filming the Veronica Mars Movie, directed by Rob Thomas, and MOW House of Versace, where he portrays Gianni Versace. Colantoni’s film credits include Steven Spielberg’s A.I., Stigmata, Albino Alligator, Money Train, and The Wrong Guy. He received critical praise for his role as Elia Kazan in the Golden Globe-winning and Emmy-nominated cable television movie James Dean. As a writer and director, Enrico has made two shorts, The Bike and Issues, the latter premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival this fall.

From creator and showrunner Greg Spottiswood (King) comes Remedy, a unique, high-stakes medical drama that goes beyond the operating room and the ER, to reveal a compelling community of hospital staff who make the healing happen. The series follows Griffin Conners, son of the Chief of Staff, brother to both a surgeon and a nurse, and now – medical school dropout. Having been kicked out in a haze of disgrace, Griffin is forced to return to Broadview Hospital as its newest orderly, where he gets a new perspective on a world he thought he knew through a colourful cast of cleaners, project aides, transport workers and more.

The series is produced by Indian Grove Productions with Bernie Zukerman and Greg Spottiswood serving as Executive Producers.
