I agree with the writer of this article. As someone who really liked shows like Dr. Quinn and Little House on the Prairie and miniseries Anne of Green Gables, and someone who grew up reading Janette Oke novels, I am excited to watch When Calls the Heart. I haven’t tuned in yet though as its a show I’m planning on watching with my mother. My mom and I meet once a week to watch two hours of tv together and currently we are watching Chasing Life then we’ll move on to the final season of Revenge and then When Calls the Heart so I’m guessing mid-August is when I’ll start. If I wasn’t watching it with my mother I would probably watch it as soon as it appears on my pvr.
I saw a couple of episodes and while it’s not really my thing, it’s the perfect old-school CBC show in the vein of Road to Avonlea for example. Seems weird that it came from Super Channel but good for them, too.
